New York haul

New York haul
Hi. Today, I would like to share with you some of my favorite purchases I made when I was traveling to New York & Chicago.

First, I found these perfect sweaters! I always say this when I buy something, but they were really really what I was imagining in my head. haha  I love how they are very simple, have perfect length, and how they are thick enough to keep me warm and cozy. I can easily imagine myself reaching for them often to match with a pair of leggings or denim and topping it off with a statement necklace. Surprisingly, these two were both from Gap, so they were quite reasonable! yay!

 Speaking of statement necklace, I purchased this gorgeous necklace too. I love how they are bold but still settle and nicely detailed. (if that makes sense...!)

For shoes, I bought these dr. martens boots. I got the chelsea style which I think is very chic looking, and matches with everything. They are real leather and very comfortable to walk in.

I also bought a hat in this pretty carmel color. I am recently obsessed with hats, and I cannot have enough! This is from the store express.

The next one is not a fashion item, but I have to show it to you guys! I bought 4 paintings sold in front of the metropolitan museum in New York. They are each perfectly framed in these black and white simple frames. When I saw these, I instantly though of buying 4, and putting them up in my room like this. I am very happy with how it turned out :) I love decorating and making my room a comfortable space. I believe home is a significant place where inspiration begins!

This is not a fashion item as well, but I love it so much that I have to share it again. haha I went to a very huge and famous bookstore called "STRAND" in New York, and bought this cute illustration book. They were so cute that I couldn't leave it in the store! haha I later found out that the illustrator was a Japanese illustrator! Her name is Sachiko Umoto, and her illustrations are very adorable.

These are my top favorite purchases I made in New York / Chicago.
hope you found it somewhat inspiring♡

New York / Chicago

New York / Chicago
Hello! and A Happy New Year!
I still cannot believe that 2014 is over.
Hope everyone had a great holiday, and hope 2015 will be a magnificent year for all of you♡
What did I do on my holiday? That is what I am going to share in this post.
I spent my holiday in Chicago and New York with my friends.
I am super thankful for being able to travel around and do what I want to do.
Even though they are both in the States, the two cities were completely different.
Chicago - I was amazed by the many traditional×modern architectures. They were just beautiful. I was invariably looking around all the architectures like a complete stranger when walking in the street. There were also several public arts around the city which made the walk in the city even more fascinating.
New York - it was a magical city with many possibilities. Although some people were callous (not going to lie), most people seemed to be energetic filled with liveliness and hope. Since I stayed for a whole week, I was able to see and explore the different faces and atmosphere of the city  (other than the busy "timesquare image" which most people tend to have of New York) which was awesome!
So...without anymore blabbing, here are some of the pictures!
hope you find it somewhat inspiring...:)

seeing the world

Hello.

Today I would like to do a short and simple update on what I have been doing recently.
(*ALERT! A LOT OF PICTURES!!!*)

I have been traveling around quite a lot.

<Toronto>
The most lively and active region of Canada.
 I love how the city is energetic but also has the calm and artsy aspect.

(When I realized, I was in this art gallery for over 4 hours. haha That's how much I liked it!)

<Niagara Falls>
Just marvelous. I was speechless when I first saw these massive falls.
It was intriguing to see the US so close from the Canada side.

<Montreal>
French × English speaking region of Canada.
 I fell in love with the mixture of European & Canadian city.
The public art all around the city captured my heart completely.
The food was so scrumptious as well. Just thinking about the crepes I had makes my mouth water!

<Cedar Island>
Canoed to get here! My first canoeing experience!
It was more tiring than I expected, but it was totally worth it.
swimming in the lake after canoeing felt amazing.

<Frontenac>
I hiked at Frontenac twice.
One time in October when the leaves were still in pretty autumn colors, and another time on the first snow day in Canada. They were completely different experience with different beautiful views.

Although I have only been traveling around Canada so far (I live in Canada right now),
I already have a plan to go to New York and Chicago next month which I am looking forward to A LOT! I am also going to Quebec city this week, which is another European French speaking region in Canada (about 6 hours drive from my place) :)
I love traveling so much because it refreshes my mindset, plus it inspires me in various ways.
I hope I was able to give you some kind of inspiration through the pictures I took.

I will post again soon.

Bye~
